At Kids InMotion, our psychologists specialise in child development and create personalised treatment plans to help every child reach their full potential. We focus on building strengths, overcoming barriers, and developing skills so children and teens can achieve their goals and feel confident in themselves. After an initial assessment, our psychologists provide evidence‑based support tailored to your child’s needs.

Psychological assessments give families clear, evidence‑based insights into a child’s strengths and challenges. They can help identify the type and severity of difficulties, guide treatment plans, diagnose learning or behavioural disorders, support NDIS funding applications, and determine what adjustments are needed at school or home.

Our psychologists are trained to deliver a wide range of standardised assessments, including:

Cognitive (IQ) Assessments
These measure intellectual strengths and weaknesses, helping to identify learning difficulties, intellectual disabilities, or areas of giftedness.

• Clinic session: around 2–3 hours
• Report preparation: 4–5 hours

Intellectual Disability Assessments
Combine IQ testing with adaptive assessments completed by caregivers to provide a full picture of abilities and needs.

Specific Learning Disability Assessments
Include both IQ testing and achievement testing (WIAT‑IV) to diagnose learning disorders and guide tailored support.

Autism Assessments
We use gold‑standard tools — the ADOS‑2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and ADI‑R (Autism Diagnostic Interview) — to help families understand behaviours and access early intervention. These can be completed from 12 months of age through adulthood.
